Three area standouts earn wins at Burgettstown

A trio of local wrestling standouts earned victories at the Burgettstown Tournament this past weekend.
Elizabeth Forward’s Ryan Michaels (113), Bentworth’s John Vargo (195) and Frazier’s Thayne Lawrence (160) each claimed the title in their respective weight classes.
Michaels earned pinfall wins over Frazier’s Jacob Kordich and Chartiers Valley’s Tony Montgomery in his first two matches of the tournament.
He picked up a win over Nick Onea of Pottsville to win the title.
