A Monessen man accused of fighting and attempting to run over his son outside a Rostraver Township business has been ordered to stand trial in Westmoreland County Court.

Eddy Bell, 47, of Ridge Avenue appeared Friday in Monessen’s Magisterial District Court. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Rostraver police responded to the store around 1 p.m. Dec. 31 for reports of an altercation, an affidavit of probable cause states.

Bell allegedly began arguing with his son, Nicholas Scott Bell Sr., 29, of Monessen, inside the store before the confrontation turned physical in the parking lot, police said.
