A Glassport man who allegedly admitted he shot his two dogs because they wouldn’t stop following him home has been charged with cruelty to animals.
Quincy Cowans, 28, of Ohio Avenue was charged Thursday with two counts each of aggravated cruelty to animals, vaccination required: certificate and tag and application for dog license. He was also charged with four counts of cruelty to animals.
Just before 1 p.m. Dec. 26, Glassport police were called to a home on the 1100 block of Minnesota Avenue for reports that neighbors on the street found an injured brindle pit bull, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
When police arrived, they contacted animal control officers from McKeesport-based Sable Kennel, who responded immediately and took the dog to be treated, the affidavit states.
