Edward Nathaniel ‘Po Ed’ Johnson – Monessen

Edward Nathaniel “Po Ed” Johnson, 79, of Monessen, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville. Ed was born Oct. 21, 1939, in Monessen to the late Nathaniel and Edna Johnson. He was a graduate of Monessen High School. Ed was employed by Texas Eastern Pipeline of Bartleysville, Okla., Gerald Vitale Inc. of North Charleroi, Robertson Heating and Supply of Greensburg and Dawn Supply in Donora. He was a social member of Loyal order of Elks 697 in Monessen. Ed is survived by six children, Edward N. Johnson, Edna M. Johnson, Jay J. Johnson, Vaughn A. Johnson, Dawn D. Thomas Johnson, all of Buffalo, N.Y., and Reese Johnson; five stepchildren, Darnell R. Williams, Edward D. Lantz, Terry Lantz-Baldwin, Kirk D. Lantz and Teresa Lantz-Brown; a host of grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren; and his lifelong friend, Mr. Richard James, along with all those he held dear to his heart. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at which time a funeral service will begin all at Christian Life Ministries 1201 Patton Ave. Monessen, PA 15062, with the Rev.
