The region has been enjoying warm temperatures since the start of the new year, but the time is coming to break out the winter coats, hats and gloves, as the National Weather Service’s Pittsburgh location says winter weather is on the way.

The weather service is predicting a 50 percent chance of showers for today, mainly after 9 a.m.
