The 39-year-old Elizabeth resident and 2015 Douglas Education Center graduate doesn’t just love scary moves. He’s also a horror filmmaker, currently writing and directing a movie about a man’s transformation into a “wererabbit” called “Bad Hare Day.”
Hughes has been working in conjunction with Douglas students and others on the upcoming horror-comedy short film, which was filmed at Mon Valley locations such as the Monongahela Foodland.
Inspired by holiday-themed horror films, Hughes decided to set “Bad Hare Day” during Easter, a time of year largely unrepresented by films from the genre.
