The Serra Catholic boys basketball team’s winning streak is now up to seven games after what head coach Justin Walther called an “intense game” against Class 4A Highlands Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles trailed after two quarters of play but used a big third quarter effort to take down the Golden Rams, 82-70, at the Jamfest Tournament at Penn Hills High School.

Serra Catholic (8-2) fell behind 36-31 at halftime and stayed afloat by connecting on 10 of its 11 free throw attempts in the first 16 minutes.

Serra bounced back to outscore Highlands 26-11 in the third quarter and maintain a 10-point edge heading into the fourth quarter.
