Dorothy Marie Zippay Yagodich – Fallowfield Township

Dorothy Marie Zippay Yagodich, 84, of Fallowfield Township, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019. Born on May 13, 1934, she was the daughter of the late George Paul and Mary Dorothy Pavlekovsky Zippay. She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was a retired writer for the Tribune-Review, where she wrote human interest articles, and she was a member of the Washington County Conservation District. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Milan T. Yagodich and wife Dina of Damascus, Md., and Dr. Kenneth E. Yagodich and wife Gwen, of Evansville, Ind.; granddaughters, Sara, Julie and Lucy Yagodich of Damascus, Md.; a brother, Edmond Zippay and wife Cheryl of Fallowfield Township; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Zippay of Fallowfield Township. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Amil Miller Yagodich, whom she married on Aug. 9, 1952; and a brother, Robert Zippay. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi, with interment following in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary, Mother of the Church, 624 Washington Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Online condolences may be sent to www.spallinofuneralhome.com.
