There was no rough water on Uniontown’s journey to the Mon Valley. The Red Raiders enjoyed smooth sailing in an easy 85-36 win over Belle Vernon Area in Section 3-4A play Friday on the Leopards’ home floor.
Uniontown coach Rob Kezmarsky walked off the floor pleased, but not content with his team’s victory.
“They played really well, and they found each other very well. We did a better job at attacking the zone,” Kezmarsky said. “I was very nervous preparing for this game because Belle Vernon is a good team and their going to keep getting better. We’re lucky to be 2-0, we have Ringgold coming up and our next four out of five are at home, so we’re excited about that.”
The games opening salvo was fired by Uniontown’s Raymond Robinson before Larry Callaway scored on back-to-back possessions to give the Leopards (2-9, 0-2) the lead at 4-3 with 6:43 left in the frame. It was the Leopards’ only lead of the night.
