Mary S. Brady – Monongahela

Mary S. Brady, 90, of Monongahela, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at Hallsworth House in Monessen. She was born Sept. 16, 1928, in Elizabeth, the daughter of Joseph and Ann Dorchinitz Spernak.​ Mary was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Church in Monongahela. She retired as an instructional aide from the Bethel Park School District with over 23 of employment. Mary enjoyed traveling abroad with her husband Dick, enjoyed singing, had a beautiful smile and was a very genuine and good-hearted person.​ She is survived by her niece whom she and her husband Dick raised since the age of 12, Mary Ann Toth of Belle Vernon; great nieces, Monica Brannon and Lori Gargasz and her children, Thomas and Sophia; two grandchildren, Allan and Andrea Flanders; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.​ In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Patrick Brady, who died Jan. 7, 2009; daughter, Patricia Flanders; son, Michael Brady; brothers, Joseph, Frank and Victor Spernak; two sisters, Margaret Spernak, who died in infancy, and Helen Guzanick.​ There will be no visitations for Mary. The family is planning a blessing service to be announced and held at a later date. The FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, 6507 Wilkins Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15217.
