Steeber scores 24 as BVA blasts Yough

The Belle Vernon Area girls basketball team continues to be one of the hottest in the area as the Leopards rolled to their seventh straight win Thursday and remained tied for first place in Section 3-4A.
Head coach Ronnie Drennen’s team blasted host Yough, 55-24, behind 24 points from senior Lindsay Steeber. She scored inside and outside, driving to the basket with ease and hitting four 3-pointers.
The Leopards got a combined 19 points from junior Rachel Wobrak (11) and freshman Kaci Bitonti (8).
In the second and third quarters, the Leopards (7-3, 4-0) outscored the Cougars by a 30-7 margin.
