Second-half turnovers sink Rams

A strong second half and staying the course helped Southmoreland pull away from Ringgold for a critical Section 3-4A road win Thursday in local girls basketball action.
The Scotties forced 17 second-half turnovers and outscored the Rams by a 23-9 margin to take home a 37-22 win.
The win was Southmoreland head coach Brian Pritts’ 200th career victory, evening his record at 200-200.
“We just weren’t clicking,” Pritts said. “We weren’t playing together and we had no rhythm offensively. It was the first game back on the first day back to school, so a lot of teams struggle in that situation. We were no different.”
