Richard E. ‘Giant’ Dell Jr. – Forward Township

Richard E. “Giant” Dell Jr., 65, Forward Township, passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at home. He was the founder and owner for Giant’s Landscaping in Elizabeth. He was a former truck driver of 37 years for Marraccini Supermarket, the caretaker for Elizabeth Cemetery and was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider. Born April 21, 1953, in Washington, D.C., he was a son of the late Richard E. Dell Sr. and the late Ada Lee Williams Dell. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Frances M. Wright; daughters, Kristy Torgent of Mt. Vernon and Rachel (Brandon) Hale of Port Vue; sons, Richard (Nicole) Dell III of Forward Township, Jason (Holly) Wright of Houston, Texas, Joshua (Donna) Blake of West Elizabeth and Paul Dell of Dover Air Force Base, Del.; 19 grandchildren; a brother, Shawn R. Dell of West Elizabeth; along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Dell, and brother, Michael Dell. Friends will be received at PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 North Second Ave., Elizabeth, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2019. A funeral service will take place at noon Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ken Barner officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
