Mildred T. Furio, 98, of Monessen, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, in Hallsworth House. Born on July 8, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Banus Mihalik. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, a former member of the Epiphany Ladies, the First Catholic Slovak Union and a volunteer at Center in the Woods. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Romeo E. Furio; a son, Stephen; and a brother, John Mihalik. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Anna Furio of Chesapeake, Va., Romeo and Lynn Furio of Boulder City, Nev.; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and James Earl of Monessen; and a daughter-in-law, Virginia Furio of Charleroi; two step-grandchildren, Cori Callahan and Emily (Brent) Clark; a great-step-grandchild, Daisy; one sister, Marge McKita of Monongahela; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen, www.billicksfuneralhome.com. A blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church with Father Michael Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
