Harold L. Legler – Rostraver Township

Harold L. Legler, 98, of Rostraver Township, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2019. Born in New Eagle, on July 3, 1920, he was the son of the late John L. and Edith Rose Garbart Legler. Harold was a glazier and owned Charleroi Paint and Glass until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Monessen and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He loved sitting on his porch in the summertime, and he especially loved his pets, Lucy and Georgia. He is survived by his daughter, Terri Lynn Heisler and her boyfriend, Terry Chrissman; sister-in-law, Jane Martin; his caregiver for over 10 years, Mary Trotta; nephews and their families, James (Diane) Martin, George A. (Patty) Martin, Gary (Karen) Martin, John (Karen) Legler and Robert Legler; nieces and their families, Diane (Martin) Lengzarsky, Cheryl (Dennis) Houseman, Cindy (Kenny) Dingler and Tammy (Charles) Lee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta D. (Martin) Legler; brother, John “Jack” Legler; sister, Rosalie G. Legler; and brother-in-law, Carl Alfred Martin. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Timothy M. Dawes officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
