David Patrick Harris Sr., 80, of Charleroi, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018. Born in California, Pa., on Dec. 31,1937, he was the son of the late Alfred and Jean Anfield Harris. Pat grew up in California, was a graduate of California High School and received a bachelor’s degree at California University. He was employed by Corning Glass and Sylvania Glass in Lexington, Ky. In retirement, he worked at the Valley Independent part-time. He was a member of Speers United Methodist Church, liked to golf, read and loved politics. Pat was married to Joyce Balieu Harris, deceased, for 57 years. They had four children together, David Patrick Harris Jr. and wife Eva of Fallowfield Township, Lisa Reed and husband Donald of Rostraver Township, Jamie Harris of Carroll Township and Brian Harris of Weirton, W.Va.; grandchildren, John Russell, Courtney (Robert) Young, Donald and Dylan Reed and Camryn Harris; great-grandchildren, Axel and Trent Young; siblings, Kenneth (Donna) Harris, Carol (Carl) Harris Witmyer, Nancy (Byron) Harris Parkins, John (Debra) Harris, Kay (Richard) Harris Schrock, Lawrence Harris, Deborah (Lawrence) Harris Ging, Kevin Harris; a brother-in-law, Arthur Balieu; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Sara Balieu; sister, Marie Whoolery; and sister-in-law, Cathy Balieu. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Speers United Methodist Church with interment following in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.spallinofuneralhome.com.
