William C. Mayhugh – Elizabeth Township
William C. Mayhugh, 77, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. An Army veteran during the Vietnam War, he was a retired steelworker at U.S. Steel Clairton Works and a member of Round Hill Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth Township. A devoted husband and grandfather, he enjoyed working on cars and model trains and relaxing on the back porch listening to music and enjoying life. Born Jan. 2, 1941, in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Mabel Bernhardy Mayhugh. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jo Ann Walsh Mayhugh; daughter, Gwendolyn A. (Brian) Berchok of Elizabeth Township; grandchildren, Brian Berchok and Jocelyn Berchok, both of Elizabeth Township; sisters, Shirley Heath of Townville and Mary Patello of Waltersburg; brother, Allen (Setsue) Mayhugh of Elizabeth; along with nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William C. Mayhugh Jr. Friends will be received at PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 N. Second Ave., Elizabeth, from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Dr. D. Matthew Stith officiating. Private burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
