Donora budget vote set for Friday

Donora council has scheduled a special meeting for Friday to pass its final 2019 budget, which is expected to hold the line on taxes.
Initially there was a projected deficit of about $197,000 in next year’s budget, but borough administrator John Bedner has said there will be a surplus going into the new year that will balance the budget. The deficit projection was largely due to delinquent property tax payments. Bedner said the 2019 budget will account for this increase in delinquent taxpayers.
