Washington County Commissioners are expected to discuss the 2019 Local Share Account funding recommendations during their 10 a.m. meeting today.
All projects were submitted to commissioners by the Washington County Local Share Account Review Committee, which comprises economic development professionals, municipal leaders and representatives from the state legislative delegation.
Commissioners announced yesterday that the committee recommended $7,453,083 in LSA funding, which is generated through the county’s share of gaming revenues derived from The Meadows Racetrack and Casino, be invested to match $12,550,560 in additional resources, for a total impact of $20,003,643.
Commissioner Chairman Larry Maggi stressed the importance of LSA funding on county’s economic future, adding Washington County is “unequaled” in the region for its economic growth.
