Monessen demolition project to start soon

Demolition of a former Monessen firemen’s social hall could begin by the end of the year, according to Councilman Dave Feehan.

On Thursday, Feehan, along with Councilwoman Lois Thomas and Councilman Anthony Orzechowski, awarded a demolition and site clearance bid for 279 Schoonmaker Ave. to Stash Trucking of McKeesport at a cost of $147,000 to be paid out of a state Department of Community and Economic Development Initiatives grant.
