Serra captures opener without Moon

With 6-9 senior forward Jimmy Moon out with a lower-body injury sustained during pregame warmups, the Serra Catholic boys basketball team was forced to conduct business Friday without a player who averaged 16.6 points and 13 rebounds per game last season.

Serra had little trouble without the Seton Hill recruit, though, rolling past East Allegheny, 63-38, at the Eagles’ tip-off tournament.
