Sewickley Township man, 74, accused of raping mentally disabled woman

A 74-year-old Sewickley Township man is accused of sexually assaulting a mentally disabled 24-year old woman.
Wayne E. Smith was charged by state police with rape of a mentally disabled person, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person with a mental disability and aggravated indecent assault. The charges were filed Friday at the office of Magisterial District Judge Charles Christner in Rostraver Township.
The alleged assaults occurred over a four-day period between Aug. 31 and Sept. 8 at Smith’s residence in Sewickley Township.
The Mon Valley Independent does not identify alleged victims of sexual assault.
