Belko claims regional crown, Vulcans earn team qualifier

California University cross country runner Alicia Belko became the second runner in program history to become a regional champion as she claimed the individual crown at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships Saturday at the Bob O’Connor Golf Course at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh.
Belko’s victory marks the second consecutive season that a Cal U runner has been crowned the regional champion. Julie Friend, a five-time Division II All-American during her time at Cal U, won the regional title last season.
