Union blasts conditions at correctional facility

The Washington County Correctional Facility’s union has issued a vote of no confidence in the jail’s ability to operate in a “safe, effective and efficient manner,” claiming morale is at an all-time low.
In a letter dated Nov. 8, Joseph Fellencer, National Correctional Employees Union labor representative, claims Washington County has not “facilitated a safe and secure work environment, but has promoted a toxic, unsafe environment for staff and inmates house at this facility.”
