Serra nearly takes down top seed

Jose Regus’ eyes welled with pride and disappointment.
The Serra Catholic football coach just watched his 16th-seeded Eagles put a scare into No. 1 seed Shady Side Academy before losing, 22-20, Friday in a Class 2-A playoff game at Farrell Stadium in Fox Chapel.
In the end, the heavy underdogs simply ran out of time.
