Charleroi fire chief issues scam warning

Charleroi Volunteer Fire Department Chief Robert Whiten Jr. is advising Mon Valley residents to be cautious when receiving mail or phone solicitation calls seeking fire department donations.

An ongoing issue for the last several weeks, Whiten said letters from the “Volunteer Firefighter Alliance” are now requesting monetary assistance.
