Over the years, Donora’s Fraternal Order of Eagles location has become more and more like a family home, according to Nick Kopanic, an officer there.
“When you drive by, you can tell who’s here by the vehicles parked outside,” Kopanic said.
This year marks the 115th anniversary of Donora’s FOE location, and with this commemoration came some renovations to the outside, sprucing up the joint for future years.
FOE is an international organization that cherishes the values of “liberty, truth, justice and equality” with several locations, Donora’s club being just one of many. Located on McKean Avenue, the Donora FOE, which has about 200 members who pay annual dues, is open about 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. Sometimes it opens a little earlier, like when there’s a Steelers game on television.
On Saturday, they will hold a Halloween party, as they usually do. There will be karaoke, a DJ, a costume contest with prizes and more.
