‘Clean air started’ in Donora

A sign in the Donora Smog Museum’s window says, “Clean air started here.”

It might sound like a boast to those unfamiliar with the story, but Donora is mentioned right off the bat in the Environmental Protection Agency’s description of the history of air pollution.
