Awards honor area women

The “power of women” was celebrated Thursday night when the Mon River Fleet recognized 10 women who committee members feel have made an “unequivocal” impact on Mon Valley residents.
The Women of Achievement Awards Dinner, held at Stratigos Banquet Centre in North Huntingdon, recognized “women of excellence” in their professional or philanthropic fields for “outstanding contributions that have impacted the Mon Valley region through their integrity and compassion for all,” according to Eliana R. Latterman, McKeesport Hospital Foundation director of development.
