Program seeks area mentors

The McKeesport-based Consortium for Public Education is calling on local professionals and community leaders to help mentor Mon Valley-based middle school students through its “Be a Middle School Mentor” program.
The school-based mentoring program, which is slated to start Oct. 15, pairs middle school students with adult volunteers who can help them think about their futures, see the importance of doing well in school and give them a window into the world of jobs and careers, according to program coordinator Gina Barrett.
