‘American Idol’ singer visits fans

An “American Idol” contestant who hails from the Mon Valley made a stop in White Oak on Friday to spend time with her fans and thank a local small business owner for supporting her on the path to success.
Munhall resident and country music singer Gabby Barrett, 18, finished third in ABC’s “American Idol” earlier this year. She is in the region because she and 2018 “American Idol” contestant Cade Foehner, who she confirmed is her boyfriend, will be performing at a Heinz Field tailgate party Sunday before the Steelers host the Baltimore Ravens. Barrett will also sing the national anthem before the game.
