Editorial: Leading the fight against addiction

The Mon Valley Opioid Coalition is working to erase the stigma of addiction as a way to encourage people to seek help.

As part of that effort, the group will hold a National Night Out in Monessen from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 to encourage people to interact with police officers. The event will also include a parade, entertainment and other activities, but the main focus will be building trust between citizens and police.
