Monessen officials react to state audit

Monessen School District is working with state Auditor General Eugene DePasquale to correct financial issues identified in a recent performance audit.

In a statement released this week, DePasquale said late financial statements and reports have caused the district to put its own financing and credit ratings at risk – which is “not a fiscally responsible way to run a school district.”
