Editorial: Charleroi Area made the right call
Faced with a POSSIBLE life-or-death situation on Friday, Charleroi Area School District Superintendent Dr. Ed Zelich opted to exercise caution — which meant canceling the season-opening football game at Monessen.
Zelich acted based on a death threat that a Monessen student allegedly made toward a Charleroi player. The threat reportedly included some menacing text and was sent on Snapchat, a social media platform where messages disappear after a few seconds, making them difficult to trace.
