Smoke forces evacuation at Monessen school

Monessen Middle/High School was evacuated in the early afternoon Thursday after a malfunctioning furnace motor in the building caused smoke to fill up a classroom, hallway and basement. Municipal Fire Chief Delmar Hepple said the call came in at 12:28 p.m. for an automatic fire alarm.
