Everyone’s ready for Mardi Gras

By Mon Valley Independent

Members of Epiphany of our Lord Catholic Church in Monessen gathered Monday night to prepare for today’s Mardi Gras celebration. From left are Father Michael Crookston, Mary Dzurik, Barbara Shoskey, Rita Lucas, Joannie Brown, Sara Stein, Flo Petrovski and (on the floor by the table) Father Crookston’s dog, “Hazel.” The church will celebrate Mardi Gras from 6 to 8 p.m., and everyone who attends is encouraged to bring palm branches that will be burned to use for Ash Wednesday.
