Saying farewell to the voice of reason

The time has come to say farewell to the heart and soul of the Mon Valley Independent sports department. As many know by now, Assistant Sports Editor Jose Negron is headed elsewhere to live his life-long dream of covering the Pittsburgh Pirates. When I say he’s the heart and soul, that’s not an exaggeration. Without him, the sports section wouldn’t be what it is now. Let’s just cut to the chase. Love it or hate it, it’s the powerhouse when it comes to local sports coverage. That’s something we’re proud of.
