Connie Ferris, 68, of California, Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023. She was born on Aug. 21, 1955, in Kittanning, Pa., daughter of the late Francis Ferris and Dorothy Rupert Ferris Galbraith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Robert “Tub” Galbraith. Left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Peggi Fawcett; daughter, Jessica Miller (Ian); brothers, Tom Ferris (Roxanne) and Tim Ferris (Vicki); sister, Barb Folta (Dave); sister-in-law, Suzanne Herbert (Mick); and brothers-in-law, James Fawcett, Jr. (Dana) and Timothy McCormack (Valerie-deceased). Also surviving are her grandchildren, Andrew Miller and Ava Miller; niece and nephew, Katelyn Petras (Brandon) and Tom Ferris Jr. (Julia); great-nephews, Cooper and Parker Petras; numerous nieces and nephews of the McCormack, Herbert and Fawcett families; and of course, her beloved dog, Elly. Connie graduated from Ford City High School and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and spent her career helping others in human services. In retirement she enjoyed glamping at Benner’s Meadow Run, doing puzzles, reading and walking the trails of Ohiopyle. A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at the United Christian Church, 499 E. Malden Drive, Coal Center, Pa., at 1 p.m. Jan. 20, 2024. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth St., California, Pa.
