BVA earns shot to defend PIAA title

All week long, Belle Vernon Area head coach Matt Humbert stressed that his offensive and defensive lines would have to control the line of scrimmage for the Leopards (12-1) to return to the Class 3A PIAA championship. With 363 rushing yards and numerous sacks and pressures on Hickory quarterback Zander Telesz Friday night, the WPIAL champion Leopards beat the Hornets, 42-16, to return to Cumberland Valley High School. They will take on Northwestern Lehigh, which defeated Wyomissing 33-24 Friday night.
