Chief questions need to disband Elizabeth police department

Elizabeth police Chief William Sombo is upset that his department will be shut down after he all the work he did to rebuild its reputation. Council members voted Tuesday to disband the department and enter into an agreement with Elizabeth Township to provide police services. Sombo, who has more than 40 years of experience in law enforcement in and around the Mon Valley, was extremely displeased with the decision after taking over a department that was in disarray and leading it to a high standard of service.
