Monessen making progress with getting rid of blighted homes

Monessen is about a year into a city-wide demolition project it’s working on with Westmoreland County backing and funding, and so far there are 59 blighted properties involved. Mayor Ron Mozer sent out a spreadsheet to everyone involved early this month that contains the addresses of all properties that have been demolished, have gone out to bid to be demolished, are up for sale or are under contract to be demolished.
