Elizabeth concerned about speed of trains

Elizabeth Borough residents have probably noticed that CSX trains have been traveling through town much faster than usual. Borough officials have been monitoring their speed. Since Aug. 21, train engines specifically have continued to travel at the standard 10 mph once they reach the pavement of the First Avenue train tracks, but they increase to 25 mph once the lead engine passes the asphalt.
