Much like new Belle Vernon Area School District Interim Superintendent Jeanine Gregory hit the ground running after being brought on a month ago today, she says that staff members are more than prepared to welcome students back to school tomorrow.
“We have a lot of hard-working people here making sure this runs smoothly, and we have lots of students coming in … so we’ll hit the ground running,” she said. “I’m expecting it to go well. We’ve been preparing for it, and we’re ready to go.”
While the school board works on a permanent hire at the position, Gregory and 163 teachers throughout the district are looking to implement some learning changes for students.
All 2,435 students in the district will be introduced to the 7 Mindsets character education program, which is designed to meet the needs of all children to provide them with a learning environment that promotes growth.
Grades 6-8 will see a new math curriculum through enVision Math from Savvas Learning Company. The math series uses visual models and personalized learning to give students a thorough understanding of mathematical concepts.
