Forward Township: Impact of potential police merger eyed

While Forward Township supervisors don’t have an official say in the matter, one resident expressed concern Monday over the potential merger of the police department that patrols the township with another community. Resident Jayme Stoffer asked supervisors Monday how a potential merger might affect response times for the community. Last month, Elizabeth Borough officials announced they were considering two options regarding police protection in the borough — either expanding the borough’s police department or disbanding it altogether to receive coverage from Elizabeth Township police.
