McKeesport turns out to ‘meet neighbors’

Area residents crowded the McKeesport Alliance Church parking lot Tuesday evening for a National Night Out celebration, one of many held across the country to foster relationships among neighbors and police. “I just like to get everybody out to meet your neighbors, because it used to be where everybody’s door was open, everybody knew everybody,” event organizer Monica Hancharik said. “Now, everybody’s afraid to go out. So something like this, they come out and they meet their neighbors.”
