The Mon Valley Independent Summer Basketball League Boys Division held its entry draft Wednesday at Cedarbrook Golf Course.
The league will see 33 new players on the Marx’s Court Time surface this summer.
McKeesport sophomore forward Lamont Perkins Jr., who also was listed as being from Woodland Hills, was the top overall choice by league commissioner and RTI Insurance head coach Dana Zajicek.
While it’s still unclear which school he’ll be representing, Perkins now knows who he’ll play for this summer.
“I like the mix Lamont’s going to give us,” Zajicek said of his selection. “I was able to see him play a couple times last fall and winter and I’m very excited about his talent and athleticism.
“I think it was a little bit of a missing piece last season. We needed a little bit of that forward/guard type of athlete that can go along with K’Adrian (McLee), Calvin Winfrey and Noah Prosser. He’s a slasher and he can get it done inside.”
