Belle Vernon Area Middle School student winners and participants of Pennsylvania’s National History Day competition were honored by the district Monday.
Several students took home state championships and the district received the competition’s “District of the Year” designation for the fourth time.
Each year, the national competition, organized at the state level, features students presenting historical research projects.
Students worked on their projects throughout the school year and presented them to judges at the University of Scranton April 22-23. This year, the competition’s theme was “Frontiers in History.”
