National Road Pike Days Festival opens
Jaxson Buzzo, 3, and his grandmother, Carolyn Humberson of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., got a closeup look at draft mules Jake and Kat, owned by Doc and Wanda Sherry of Farmington, during a wagon train lunch stop at the Joy Delite Ice Cream Shop in Markleysburg. It was part of the National Road Pike Days Festival, which kicked off Friday and continues all weekend. Festivities are slated along Route 40 through Somerset, Fayette and Washington counties, including the communities of Scenery Hill and Brownsville.
