Monessen fifth-graders dissect barn owl pellets

Fifth-graders at Monessen Elementary Center had a science lesson Friday that required steady hands and a bit of a tough stomach. Students in Jennifer Gardner’s science/STEAM class dissected owl pellets. They are regurgitated by the bird after eating and contain various matter that is not able to be digested, like small bones.
