“Someday” has finally arrived for Elizabeth Forward High School theater students.
When EF students take the stage at Thomas Jefferson High School tonight to debut their production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” they undoubtedly deserve —and are hoping for — a full house.
Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at efmusical.com. Showtimes are 7 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday at the TJ High School Auditorium in Jefferson Hills.
Tragedy struck the EF district Feb. 12, as a fire tore through the auditorium and surrounding areas of the high school. The theater department lost everything less than six weeks before opening night of its production.
The high school was shut down after a fire erupted in the auditorium. The incident destroyed the performance hall and surrounding rooms, damaged electric, air conditioning and water heating systems and spread smoke throughout the building.
Students have also been displaced due to the fire, but learned this week they will return to school April 11.
The auditorium has been demolished, but the show will still go on for EF theater students after an outpouring of community support, help and a lot of love to make sure the curtain would still rise for their show.
